Donations - We need 'em.

So here's the deal.

I pay a lot for this place. I don't work for an ISP, I don't have any real "bandwidth connections" and nor do I expect to find any anytime soon. That means, it's got to come out of my pocket.

That's right, folks - this outfit is the brainchild of one guy and several people who put in some elbow grease for free. I don't do this professionally, I don't PLAN to do this professionally (unless it can be made into a 6 figure career like my day job), and would rather keep this outfit around for fun.

I pay around $140/mo for the pipe for the main server (a 20mbit symmetric FIOS line with a static IP). That's the one that's most popular. We have other pipes as well that come out of other people's pockets, but quite frankly, those pipes would exist regardless.

I have a 4th child on the way (we drunks just can't keep it in our pants). And while I have a decent career and make enough money to keep the boat afloat, it's going to be very tough when baby #4 comes along. At that point we'd have 3 kids in daycare of some sort (be it full-day, morning-care or after-school supervision), and it would cost roughly the same amount of money that my wife brings in from her salary.

I'm at a point now where I have to prioritize expenses. My wife already wonders why the heck i'm paying $140/mo "just to play video games", and she wonders just how much money that extra bank of machines is costing us in electrical bills. And I won't even go into how much time I put into everything to keep things running.

So - with the new baby being due in November, I have decided to accept donations to start covering my expenses.

Obviously no one is expected to donate. Nor will I allow anyone who donates to have any special privileges. While we might be a bunch of whimsical drunk people, the one thing we are not is unfair.

Donating will NOT give you any form of "reserved slot"
Donating will NOT give you any kind of "perk" that might disadvantage others
Donating will NOT give you ANY kind of special privilege.

All it will do is give you a little peace of mind knowing that you at least helped us survive another month.

All remaining proceeds above the cost of our power and internet costs will go towards future months, and I will add total amounts to the main website to reflect expenses versus contributions.

If you have decided to donate and would like to be listed on a Donators page, please let me know. If you do not mention that you would like to be listed, I will keep you anonymous by default in the interests of personal privacy.

Thanks to Acegikmo (Author of cp_glacier) for letting us know that a new version of cp_glacier has been relased. I have updated Labatt with the new version:

Slightly reduced the size of the bottom area at A

Tightened the areas between A and C
Moved the door to the A-B connection at A closer to the cap
The path from blue's spawn to A which is nearest B have been moved forward a bit
Widened the doorway from the exit going from C to A
Added a small healthpack at B
Detailed some in the red spawn
Extended the spawnroom trigger in the red respawn so it also covers the stairs
Changed a few textures on the red spawn building
Added crates to allow players to jump up on the ground outside red's spawn
Added a medium ammopack at C

Changes from a9 to a10:
Removed the building at B with a ramp inside, proven to be useless
Decreased the respawnwavetime for red with two seconds before any cap is owned by blue.
Added a small building at Blue's spawn
Changed a small medpack at A to a medium medpack
Pushed the cap at A further in, and added a lower level in the building closest to red
Sealed the hole in the red spawn, replaced with stairs
Added a few icicles here and there

Changes from a8 to a9:
Expanded C slightly
Changed a connection from B to C
Added a building at B with a ramp inside

Payload Only Server (Incl. Custom Maps)

In an attempt to make some of our servers stand out we have changed Molson over to a payload only rotation. This rotation includes a number of the popular custom maps that can be found on Labatt. Below is that map rotation:

cp_glacier updated from a8 to a12

A new version of Glacier has been updated on labatt. Going from version a8 to a12. Below are the changes:
